The subject flooding is not direct to your discipline, but many of you or neighbors have been impacted by recent years flooding.
Please help spread the word.
It is no secret that the Gulf Coast of SE Texas is flood prone and everyone knows we have had several back to back major floods during recent years in the Region.
Subsequent to last fall’s Hurricane Harvey event, there's been numerous meetings, seminars, and conferences that have attempted to address several different aspects of the flooding event such as regional economics, infrastructure damage and personal impacts.
There is an upcoming conference spearheaded by the Houston Geological Society (HGS) in conjunction with other engineering and scientific societies which will approach these aspects primarily from scientific and engineering perspectives.
Wanting to get some of the best scientific and technical information into the public domain, we have expended much energies towards an impressive agenda of presenters.
I am asking for your help to get the word out.
