Presentation: The New Old Thing: Risk Based Thinking
Risk based thinking is the new thing in quality management, but is it? Let’s discuss what is new and what is old about risk-based thinking in quality management. Will close the session by discussing a simple and pragmatic framework to implement risk based thinking from strategic to tasks levels.
An independent consultant in the Quality Management arena since 2016, Luis Suarez has helped clients develop and implement quality management systems and obtain their respective certifications. Prior to his role as a consultant, he worked for twenty years in Fortune 500 oil and gas companies in America, Europe, and Asia; notable examples are Schlumberger (13 years) and BP (6 years). During those tenures and others, he held several positions in functions that included: engineering, quality management, supply chain, and reliability.
Luis has a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University. He is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) and a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). He is also certified as an ISO:9001 Auditor by Exemplar Global.

As always, our monthly Professional Development Dinner Meetings are open to the public and are only $5.00. There is no requirement to be an ASQ member to attend, or to purchase a meal. Online pre-registration closes on Mondays at 11:45pm before the event. If you choose to purchase a meal at the event, the price will be $25 (only $5 more).
