Topic: How Do I Get to Be a Quality Professional? 

Mr. Adams will provide a detailed definition of quality, and then he will talk about the career paths, job functions, and knowledge requirements in the quality field. He will also review resources available through ASQ that can assist with professional development and answer questions from the audience.

Mr. Adams works for QIA as a Consultant and Principle Auditor. He has 38 years of experience as a Quality Auditor, Engineer, and Manager working in Automotive, Defense, IT, Machine Tool, and Oil industries. He also has experience in the following areas: OSHA Authorized Safety Outreach Trainer; Instructor for ASQ certification exam preparation courses; QHSL trainer; ...

Mr. Adams works for QIA as a Consultant and Principle Auditor. He has 38 years of experience as a Quality Auditor, Engineer, and Manager working in Automotive, Defense, IT, Machine Tool, and Oil industries. He also has experience in the following areas: OSHA Authorized Safety Outreach Trainer; Instructor for ASQ certification exam preparation courses; QHSL trainer; Quality Former Member of the Precision Measurement Association and the National Council of Standards Laboratories; Co-Author of NCSL Recommended practice on Calibration Intervals.


Mr. Adams has been a member of ASQ since 1984, a Senior Member since 1990, CQE & CQA certified for over 15 years, has served as a member leader in many capacities for several years with ASQ Houston, and he is currently the section's Historian.


Some of Mr. Adams' interests include the following: SCUBA Diver with over 60 dives; Road Rally Driver and Co-Driver; held an FIA Competition Drivers License; Worked for Public Radio and Television in the 1960s; held a 2nd Class Commercial Radiotelephone Operators License; Veteran of: 50 years in Michigan, 19 years in marriage, 1 year in Vietnam, 4 years in Egypt.
