Dinner Presentation:  Solution Session
 
Abstract: Solution Session is a compressed strategy and problem solving session geared problem solving that breaks the inertia of traditional resistance of organizational change.  It combines the fundamentals of GE WorkOut, the Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem Solving Process and mountain climbing (yes, mountain climbing).  At our hospital, it is 'the' process for enabling change across services.  Out of fifteen engagements all have delivered great results. Come learn how to leverage your engineering ability.

Biography

Duke K. Rohe, BSIE, FHIMSS
 
Duke Rohe is a Quality Improvement Education Specialist at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.  He has worked 30 years in the healthcare industry to change cultures, grow teams, improve operations.   Duke speaks on a myriad of topics: organizational change, customer service, growing teams, innovation, thinking differently, listening skills, developing improvement tools, engaging staff, leveraging yourself and our topic today…solution sessions.
 
His passion is to eliminate preventable waste in organizations.  He is known for his sharing of tools and materials.
 
He has co-authored “101 tools for Improving Healthcare Performance”, wrote chapters on change, teams and innovation in ‘Management Engineering Guidebook’  and ‘Quick Reference For Redesigning The Nursing Organization’
 
Mr. Rohe graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.  He is a Fellow member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and has received its Quality Management Award, and Outstanding Fellows Service Award.
