In accordance with the Section Operating Agreement between Section 1405 and the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the section has formed a nomination committee and is seeking nominations for the Section Leadership Positions of Chair, Chair-Elect and QMP Chair, Section Secretary, and Section Treasurer. We have in the past always elected the Chair position from the Chair-Elect position. This gives the person a chance to work closely with the Section Chair and lends continuity to the office. Because we do not have a Chair-elect this year, we will be nominating for all four offices. The treasurer and the section chair can serve a maximum or two terms.
We have nominees for the Section Chair, Chair-elect, and Secretary. We are still searching for a volunteer to act as treasurer for the program year. If you can devote 5-10 hours a month to the section we need you.
Requests to run for one of these offices are generally submitted to the nomination committee. The committee determines the candidate’s qualification for the office and places the name on a ballet. It is possible to nominate to any of the elected offices without going through the Nominating Committee. This can be done by submitting a Nomination Petition before the Start of the March Membership meeting. The petition must be signed by at least 10 Active Members of Section 1405 who endorse the nomination. A petition form is available through the nominations committee for this purpose.
