Recertification

How can I Recertify?

There are two ways to recertify:

Recertification Journal: Obtain a minimum of 18 recertification units during your three-year certification period. Document them in your recertification journal.

Examination: Sit for the exam. (Required if your certification expired and is past the six-month grace period.)

What certifications have a maintenance requirement?

The following certifications require that you get recertified every three years:

  • Biomedical Auditor
  • Calibration Technician
  • HACCP Auditor
  • Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence
  • Pharmaceutical GMP Professional
  • Quality Auditor
  • Quality Engineer
  • Reliability Engineer
  • Software Quality Engineer
  • Six Sigma Black Belt

Quality Inspector, Quality Improvement Associate, Quality Process Analyst, Quality Technician, and Six Sigma Green Belt are lifetime certifications. They have no recertification requirements.

Where do I send my Recertification Journal?

Remember to mail your Recertification Journals and Senior Member Advancement Applications to the attention of Section 1405's Recertification Chair.

Email is the fastest method to transmit the recertification package, however, payment must be with a credit card.

If packages are sent with "signature required" cards, these cannot be processed during business hours.  Regular mail is the preferred postal method.

How long does it take to process my journal?

It takes approximately two to four weeks to process the application and mail to ASQ National.  June and December are high volume months.

Should I keep a copy for my submittal?

Yes, applicants should retain a copy of all submittal documents for their records.
