ASQ Houston Section 1405 Members,

For my last Chair’s Corner as your section Chair, I simply want to say THANK YOU for a great 2014 program year. I’ve been blessed with a great section leadership team to work with this year to bring you, our members, some very exciting programs. I’ve also been fortunate enough to meet many of you at various events, and I look forward to seeing all of you again at future section activities. As we look forward to the 2015 program year, you will be in great hands with the incoming Chair, Mr. Vijai Venkata, and his section leadership team that has many volunteers returning to give another year of service to our section (which is greatly appreciated!).

Just as a reminder, our section’s biggest need at this time continues to be that we need more volunteers to help do the work behind the scenes to bring you new and exciting events throughout the year. Did you know that if you volunteer with ASQ you can earn recertification units (RUs), establish lasting relationships with others in the quality field, and have fun? I implore you to make volunteering with ASQ Houston part of plan to build stronger relationships! If you are interested in volunteering any amount of time, large or small, please contact volunteer@asqhouston.org.

Also, did you know that we are planning to host our annual ASQ Houston Holiday Professional Development Dinner meeting at the Houstonian on Sat., Dec. 13th? Registration for this event is now open! Please visit http://www.asqhouston.org/events/16/ for more information and to register, and please share this information with those you know who may be interested in attending this event!

Please note, our final regular professional development dinner meeting will be held on Thurs., Dec. 18th. Mr. Leo Judge will be speaking about “Quality Tools in Project Management for the Oil & Gas Industry,” and we will have an excellent pre-dinner speaker prior to the dinner meeting. Please see http://www.asqhouston.org/events/10/ for more information and to register.

So, once again ASQ Houston has a lot to offer our members in Dec. 2014, and I look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming meetings!

Sincerely,

Jamison V. Kovach (Jami)
