August, our hottest month, is here and I sure am feeling it. This year it’s not just the sun, but our Conference team is also ‘bringing the heat’ on the planning activities for the upcoming 2016 Houston Regional Conference. “QUALITY MAKES $EN$E” is the conference theme and the scheduled date is Friday, October 28th. We have renewed our focus on serving our community by offering a variety of volunteer events. Derica and her teams have been very busy this summer with participating in 3 community outreach events. Application forms have been published for the upcoming refresher classes. The refresher classes are being offered for CQA, CQE and SSGB exams that are scheduled for Dec 1st – 17th testing window.

“The Changing Face of Quality” is the theme for our Houston Regional Quality Conference coming up in on Nov 13th. ASQ sections are required to elect a Section Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer. We have candidates of the Section Chair and Treasurer. We still need someone to be Section Secretary and Vice-chair. The Vice-Chair is normally nominated to become the Section Chair the following year.
