Who We Are
The primary purpose of the Arrangements Committee is to make arrangements for the facilities, food, audio visual equipment, and anything else needed for Section 1405 events. Most members see us at the Check-in table for the monthly Dinner Meetings at United Way, but there’s a lot more that goes on behind the scenes. We reserve the rooms, make sure the Tutorial and Dinner presenters have everything they need, set-up the meeting registration web page, download attendance lists, make name labels, select the catering menu, check members in, hand-out door prize tickets, answer questions, issue receipts and attendance verifications, process credit cards, invoice members for missed meals, etc. – and that’s just for the monthly Dinner Meetings.
We also make arrangements for periodic Plant Tours, monthly SLT (Section Leadership Team) Meetings, Christmas Dinner Meetings, annual SLT Planning Retreats, and anything else that comes along. It’s a lot of work, but also a lot of fun; because we get to interact with the other committees and hundreds of members like you. Please consider joining our committee, because we dream-up a lot more ideas than we have time to act on. Even if it’s just for half an hour at the Check-in table – we can really use your help.
If you have any ideas, questions, comments, or suggestions for improvements – please let us know. You can contact the
Arrangements Committee Chair (713-580-3879) or just tell us when you see us. Thanks and while you’re at it, check-out the other committee pages on our new website!!
